The LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy & Technology (CPET)

In 2020, San Jacinto College’s new LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy & Technology (CPET) will be the host of the Heat Exchanger World Conference and Expo Americas.
With San Jacinto’s $60 million LyondellBasell Center for the Petrochemical, Energy & Technology, the industry benefits from a strengthening of training in key petrochemical manufacturing areas.
CPET leads the way in training the advanced workforce to meet the growing demands of the industry. The College has served as the training leader for the petrochemical, energy and technology workforce in the greater Houston area for more than four decades.

The college’s four campuses play a vital role in helping the region become the “Energy Capital of the World”. The college regularly invites representatives to be a part of its Petrochemical Advisory Council for industry feedback. The council includes leaders from the petrochemical industry and plant managers, and is tasked with continually assessing the curriculum, equipment and planning for the Center.

In October 2017, Jim Griffin joined San Jacinto College as Associate Vice Chancellor/Senior Vice President for the Petrochemical Training Division. In his position, Griffin oversees the curriculum and instruction of the College’s petrochemical-related training programs, as well as the development of the LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, & Technology.

San Jacinto College's LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, & Technology (CPET) will lead the way in training the advanced workforce to meet the growing demands of the industry.

Network and Exhibit
Running alongside the conference is the Heat Exchanger Exhibition, which will showcase the latest products and solutions for the processing, manufacturing, machinery, repair, and maintenance sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals with a high-level of expertise in an informal atmosphere throughout the Expo hall. The community of heat exchanger manufacturers, suppliers, fabricators, distributors and end users will come together to strengthen relationships, meet existing and new customers, and exchange ideas and opinions face-to-face. Attendees will experience a social atmosphere aimed at exchanging useful information.
